the one word project

I've been sitting back and trying to just chill for this first month.... exploring new blogs and finding new things that stike my fancy. I've chosen my word for the year and you can read about that here. Somewhere... someone's blog(s) talked about clearing out and cleaning up so I've been doing some of that but that's for a later tale... But tonight I did find something that caught my attention! It's called the One Word project. I thought it sounded like a project that I would enjoy participating in AND it could be pretty inspiring! Since it's the middle of January I looked thru a few images from the last couple of months to find one that fit January's word ... which is create! I've already checked the 'rules' to make sure I wasn't cheating to chose a back dated photo. I think this could be a fun way to challenge myself - with each new word of the month the Shutter Sisters chose! Here is the first image I decided to post:

fifteen fun facts...

I've had this blog for a couple

of years and thought it would be fun to do

fifteen fun facts ...

you might or might not know

about ME!

so here goes:

• born and lived ‘up north’ the first 6 yrs of my life.. got my first and only sled that 6th yr for Christmas... then celebrated my 7th b’day in Texas ~ never to use the sled again but I do still have it... ha!! it’s practically an antique!

• now my husband and I live in oHIo and ❤ ❤ ❤ all of the seasons here... in Texas we usually had two: hot and hotter!

• have lived in 21 different houses over my lifetime... the longest time in one house -11 yrs .. the shortest - 3 mo

• absolutely love my NikonD90 and try to never leave home without it - invariably when I do - that is when I see the most perfect shot ever!! photography is my passion... the place I can go and loose all track of time and/or conditions

• my favorite number is 5! ... after that... any odd number divisible by 3

• we have 3 kitties - Phantom - Echo - Tabitha and I occasionally refer to them all as p-e-t ... Phantom is the phat-cat Echo is the scared-y cat and Tabitha (the only female) is the princess

• I'm always early... always!! I would rather be an hour early than 5 min late!

• music is a big part of my day... no talent for any of it - can’t sing, dance, or play an instrument well but OH do I love to listen... also enjoy live music

• but not a big fan of crowds

• the older I get the more afraid of heights I become

• I have a bit of an ocd personaltiy... if I start a project but change gears I have to clean up the first trail before I can even begin to concentrate on the new one

• I am a total a klutz especially on steps (even curbs)

• I adore the Stephanie Plum Series by Janet Evanovich... they make me laugh and I love love love Ranger!

• did not watch American Idol that first year when Kelly Clarkson from Burleson Texas won but have watched it every year since... not sure they can beat this past ’09 season - it was a close call

• I am finding out that time REALLY does go faster the older you get

Birthday Wishes to Chuck

Well, today is Chuck's birthday and Wendy and I ...er well Wendy took him to lunch and I was invited too! She called me early in the week and said she was going to decorate his office after he left work on Thursday! She had that yellow construction tape all over his doorway ... balloons comming up from the chairs and a big banner strung across: Happy 50 Birthday!!! It looked great! He was sooo careful to not say anything about it but everyone in the whole building wished him a happy bday all day long! It was great! She asked me where should WE take him.

He likes Brios and we don't go there very often. I figured I would be paying but then she wanted to pay for all three of us! So sweet! This picture that she sent me was when she had to re-decorate...He always gets there real early and at first thought their area was really under some sort of construction! Then he saw the balloons and took it all down. And when she got there the first thing she did ~ was put it all right back up. lol Happy Birthday Chuckie!!!

Heart shadowbox perfect for Valentine's day or just because...

I finished these 2 up last night but didn't get them posted on etsy until this afternoon. They were really fun to make and came together just as I'd imagined them. Hope someone else likes them too! After I got done I worked at straightening this room up! It really felt better this afternoon to come up and find some sense of order. I'm starting on some new projects tomorrow but this evening have just found myself playing with pictures....photographs...all in stock stuff. The weather has been dismall this past week...rain almost everyday. Well, except for yesterday but it didn't stay pretty long enough to get out in it.

Okey-dokey...more tomorrow!

That's the name of my new collage! I think I'm done but who knows if that's the way I'll feel in the morning. hhhmmmm...

I already know there'll be a Paris in the springtime 2! The wheels are turning on it already! That is a trip I would love to take! Boy, talk about a photo op! oh yeah...

Not sure where this is going to end up...on a wall, posted on etsy....hhmmm...

a friend told me i wasn't messy enough for collage. i thought i did pretty good with this one! (at least 'messy - wise') The room's a mess if that means anything!

actually i had a great time making it~ so messy might be my new state of being.... ha!

Cards anyone??

With V~day just a month away it's hard not to keep making cards! Especially since I love doing it. So I've come up with a plan...if they don't say Happy Valentines Day they could be used anytime!!! right? Am I asking myself? Yes but it's ok coz I always know the right answer...just nod your head ~that's right up and down. Perfect. ANYWAY....on to the new ones! (cards...please try and stay with me here k???)

I know this one does look like it a vday card.....BUT it could be ahhh....something else! like

aaahhh....an anniversary card....

WELL IT COULD.

OK-OK! Maybe a couple of them are a stretch...

But I really love Valentines day and it's really fun to make the cards. If it helps they are all blank inside!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner!

Been working on cards for Etsy and for the Old Town Spring shop! Mostly Valentine stuff ... but when I go to OTS Monday I plan on taking my camera and getting some shots! Soooo that means I will have new photos to work (or play) with soon! I'm excited about this next week! Lots of stuff going on. Wish the weather would cooperate. cold ..then hot ..then cold again... it's January and so I guess it should be at least coolish~don't ya think? Anyway, the weekend is going fast so wanted to post something before the week started! Did get some of the cards posted on etsy ...only took me 4 hours to do! Hey it's not as easy as it looks! Anyway, heres my new collection pic...well, it ended up above but whatever.... you can see it A N Y W A Y......geez.
