A Texas Christmas...

Sunday night out with the girls...

Last year BA gave us a neat gift for Christmas...her sister, her Grammy and I received a gift card for Micacinas (a fav Mexican place) and a movie. We finally had an opportunity to use these last Sunday night!
We went to pick up Mom and asked Dad to snap an image ... so here are a couple:












The food was FAB as always...I love that place! Wish there was something comparable in Cinci.

We saw Four Christmases. It was stadium seating (like most of them are) and we were a few minutes late. We sat only 4 rows back!! Reese was larger then life to say the least.

It was a fun evening.

I had the pleasure of tagging along with Lynn as she brought The heART factory to school!



It was so neat to see them paying such close attention as she talked to them about colors...and how the primary colors made the secondary colors.









It was nothing short of amazing to see them paint on their canvas with absolutely NO FEAR!




That's the kind of artist I want to be when I grow up...
oh
I am grown up.....hummmm.

That's the kind of artist I want to be NOW! TODAY.

Hot Air...

I just finished reading a blog from one of my cyber friends and she is already thinking ahead to 2009...She's probably done with her Christmas shopping so she has the time to mull over her goals and aspirations for the new year! Me? I'm doing good with trying to figure out what next week holds...and Christmas presents??? I haven't even made a list.




I would like to go up in one of these someday...











I'm really afraid of heights but I think if I had my camera the thrill of getting such awesome images would prevail over the fear.

Light on their feet...

Went to the Blue Wisp Jazz Club with some friends...




Listened to some great music by Sound Body Jazz Orchestra...
They are a 15 pc orchestra that played old stuff and new. One of the members is the son of the friends we met. The music alone was wonderful ~ including the only female in the group who did vocals.

As usual, I brought my camera. I uploaded several images to my Flickr pg.


These are a few of our friends dancing....hence the name of this blog.
It does appear they are definantly light on their feet!

We all had a great time!

Cincinnati

We went up to Cincinnati ...Chuck had meetings and I had places to go...pictures to take! Thankfully it was the first part of last week BEFORE the snowfall. Here are a couple of pictures of some friends ... I can't believe we will be looking for a house again up there! Exciting? Yes!Daunting? nope! Since we've already lived up there we know the area and that is such a big advantage!

I've been taking a break from the art stuff....it's really fun to do but it gets frustrating ...and I will just leave it at that.

So, since it has been predetermined that I am a much happier person creating something ~ I turn my attention to photography. Had a photo shoot a few weeks ago with Wendy...and have since -in my spare time- been trying out different photo shop techniques.

So the next few posts will be the results of some of this playing.

I've been busy with pictures lately ...I can never just take them...I have to 'play' with them too.
But I am starting some new projects....the cards * tags * and these little collages* are something I will always favor because they can usually be done in a day or 2 of starting. Last Saturday when I was out (photo shoot) we found some old shops...some with junk and others with some pretty cool stuff. Unfortunatley, I didn't realize that 'junking' would be part of the trip and I didn't have much $$ on hand.... But even with a little I was able to find some goodies. It was a beautiful day so the photography went well and the shopping (or looking) was loads of fun!!!

Birthday Wishes to Chuck

Well, today is Chuck's birthday and Wendy and I ...er well Wendy took him to lunch and I was invited too! She called me early in the week and said she was going to decorate his office after he left work on Thursday! She had that yellow construction tape all over his doorway ... balloons comming up from the chairs and a big banner strung across: Happy 50 Birthday!!! It looked great! He was sooo careful to not say anything about it but everyone in the whole building wished him a happy bday all day long! It was great! She asked me where should WE take him.

He likes Brios and we don't go there very often. I figured I would be paying but then she wanted to pay for all three of us! So sweet! This picture that she sent me was when she had to re-decorate...He always gets there real early and at first thought their area was really under some sort of construction! Then he saw the balloons and took it all down. And when she got there the first thing she did ~ was put it all right back up. lol Happy Birthday Chuckie!!!
